Saint Lucia Jazz culminates

World renowned, and popular local artistes showcased within a range of venues.

The Saint Lucia Summer Festival began with a bang last Friday as the jazz component took centre stage.

A variety of world renowned artistes showcased within a range of venues to the delight of expectant crowds.

Friday night lived up to the hype associated with Caribbean Night for Saint Lucia Jazz at Pigeon Island. Michael Robinson got a warm reception from the appreciative audience which ranged from teen fans to seasoned jazz enthusiasts. Robinson delivered an energetic set of original songs and covers. Steel Pan maestro Andy Narell, was next on stage, followed by singer, story teller David Rudder.

The Saturday show featured a potpourri of French, Latin, Afro-Cuban and Hip Hop flavored jazz. Bluemango, Richard Payne, Kenny Garret and Richard Bona were the headliners for the day.

Saint Lucia Jazz culminated at the Pigeon Island National Landmark on May 14, with a lineup that included Malavoi, the Rupert Lay Quartet and Vanessa Williams.
